A bite splint (or muscle-relaxing splint) is a custom-made or pre-molded removable dental device. It is placed over the teeth to protect enamel from wear, relax the muscles used for chewing, and alleviate orofacial pain and symptoms of Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD).
